Upcoming Shell6 maintenance *Update 1*
|
Friday the 28th of May at 17:00 (GMT+1, DST) we will begin maintenance on shell6.
We expect the server to be unavailable for about 4 hours.
Feel free to email us, if you have any questions upfront, during the maintenance or afterwards.
Services affected:
Shell services on shell6
Shared bouncer 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25.
Bouncer Admin might be unavailable at some times.
Update 1 @ 2010-05-28 17:42:
Everything seems to be back up running.
The last bouncers etc are reconnecting as we speak.
If you do experience any problems, please let us know as soon as possible.
Shell users might need to manually log in and restart processes. |

Upcoming Shell1 maintenance *Update 1*
|
Friday the 21th of May at 17:00 (GMT+1, DST) we will begin maintenance on shell1.
The primary IP 83.97.101.2 on the server will be replaced by 83.97.101.3.
Mail will also be seperated to another server.
We expect the server to be unavailable for the rest of the day Friday and partly Saturday.
It might take a while for updated DNS records to propagate properly.
Feel free to email us, if you have any questions upfront, during the maintenance or afterwards.
Services affected:
Shell services on shell1
Shared bouncer 1, 4, 9, 12 and 14.
Bouncer Admin might be unavailable at some times.
Mail services (customers having email with EuShells.com)
Sorry for the short notice, but we had some problems confirming the date for the maintenance, and we believe most customers wont need any preparation before the maintenance.

Most things seem back up running. We are currently migrating the last few things.

Power issues
|
Hello,
Due to UPS (emergency power) maintenance, the external person doing the maintenance made a mistake, causing a short power outage.
Everything is just about to be back up running.
If you still have problems, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will correct the problem as soon as possible.
Affected servers: shell1, 2, 4, 6, 7.
That includes our website, Bouncer Admin, mail services, DNS services and web services and just about half of the shared bouncers.

Scheduled Maintenance
|
Our provider in Aarhus have scheduled maintenance 3rd of May 2010 from 4:30 till 6:00AM CEST.
Outages/timeouts might occur during the maintenance.
Affected servers: shell1, 2, 4, 6 and 7.
It affects shared bouncers on the servers above, mIRC hosting and our website.
The affected shared bouncers are:
1,2,4,5,9,12,14,15,19,20,21,22,23,24,25

Scheduled maintenance 18/01-10 and 20/01-10
|
The 18th of January 2010 and 20th of January 2010 our provider in Aarhus have scheduled maintenance.
That means some of our servers will be inaccessible and cause some timeouts in the period 23:59 - 03:00 (GMT+1).
Affected servers: shell1, 2, 4, 6 and 7.
It affects shared bouncers on the servers above, mIRC hosting and our website. |

Shell5
|
As a wild shot, the same procedure has been performed on shell5, as on shell2 as described in the previous post.
Sorry for the reboots during the evening (within the last 1-1½ hour of writing this). |

Shell2 issues
|
Due to the latest issues for shell2, which we believe might be kernel (operating system) related, we have tried to upgrade to a more recent version and hope it solves the issues.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused by the hangups and following reboots. |

Shell5 issues *Updated 4*
|
Seems like we are still experiencing some problems after the replacement of shell5 last weekend.
A technician is on his way to look at the issue.
An update will follow.
UPDATE:
The server has been rebooted.
UPDATE 2:
Okay, the issue continued - the disk going into read-only mode.
Update will follow soon
UPDATE 3:
Seems like the filesystem is pretty messed up.
We will be recovering from a backup from last night.
UPDATE 4:
Recovering from the backup is somewhat complete.
If you really lack a file from after last nights backup (after 05/11-2009 5AM CET), let us know, and we can try see if it is recoverable.
If you notice any odd behaviour, please let us know.
And we hope it will run better this time...

Shell5 replaced
|
During the power maintenance today, we decided to replace and reinstall shell5 from scratch due to the recent problems with the server.
We believe it might have been a disk related issue.
We will be copying over data and install most packages again, but if you have troubles getting some things to work, or lack a package that was installed before, please contact us, and we will have a look at it.

|
Our provider of shell3 and shell5 have planned power maintenance the 1st of November 3-6AM (CEST).
It is very likely, that our servers will be shutdown and unvailable for some time during that period.
This also affects the shared bouncers on the two servers.
If you are using such an are affected can be seen if you log into your Bouncer Admin and go the to Vhosts-page. It lists the physical servers the bouncers are located at.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
NB: This is the same as announced 4/10-2009
Update 4:47 CEST:
The maintenance have completed.

Connectivity issues on shell5
|
We are experiencing connectivity issues on shell5.
This affects bnc's: 10, 11, 13, 16 and 18.
It is not able to connect to the bnc's nor the shells of the server at this moment.
We expect this to be fixed at around 17.00 CEST.

Problems on Shell5
|
We are seeing disc error on Shell5 at the moment.
We will be changing the disk in 5-10 minutes. We will need to make some installation before the bnc's and shell is back up.
This will cause connectivity problems to shell5 for shell users and for user of the following BNCs:
BNC08
BNC10
BNC11
BNC13
BNC16
BNC18
UPDATE:
We have rebooted the server and it seems to work finde without errors. We will issue a planned maintenance in the near future.

Due to network and power maintenance in one of the datacentres where we are present, network connectivity will drop at approx 5am (GMT+2) and estimated to last around 30 minutes.

Massive attack causing severe connectivity issues at shell1/2/6 and website
|
During the evening, our provider has been suffering from a massive attack, which their upstream provider failed to filter in a decent timeframe.
The issue should have been resolved now.
