Routing/Network issues
|
Earlier today from 00:01 to 00:36 GMT+1 we suffered from a routing issue at our provider causing a complete disconnect from the internet.
The issue was solved as soon as possible by our provider when they became aware of the issue. Shortly after everything should be back up running normally again.
Power was not affected and all user processes should still be running.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. |

Cooling/power issues
|
About an hour ago we suffered from some cooling problems in the data centre we are located which lead to power issues (heating problems).
The problem has been resolved on their end and we are currently booting the last few servers.
Please expect a bit longer before asking about missing connectivity.
Users with shells might need to restart their processes manually.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. |

Hosted mIRC beta information
|
We are currently adjusting various things regarding the Hosted mIRC beta clients. Amongst some of the changes we are limiting the amount of RAM a client can use. If the RAM usage runs over the limit, it will be automatically killed. We recommend that you enable autostart from our webinterface, so the bot will restart in case it gets killed.
We might adjust the limitations further in the upcoming days if we find the current change to be inadequate.
Some of you also experienced problems with minimized clients. Every 10th minute we will automatically check for such clients, and restore any minimized clients found. |

Short network timeouts
|
Due to some network issues at our provider, we have had several dropouts in the network connectivity in the past week of time.
Our provider have replaced a core box in their network to resolve the issue, which have been affecting us.
It is likely a few more dropouts will occur while they adjust the remaining things, but after that, everything should run smooth again.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. |

Maintenance follow-up
|
Some final changes related to the network maintenance a few days ago were performed roughly 30 minutes ago causing roughly 12 minutes of downtime.
They should be done for this time.
We are sorry for the inconvenience and the shorttermed, and lack of, notifications. |

Shell6 issues
|
We are currently suffering from some problems due to an attack on shell6 earlier tonight.
We hope to have the issue solved in the morning.
The primary IP on the server has been nullrouted (blocked) due to the attack. Please use another IP on the server if you need to SSH in.

Power issues causing network connectivity problems
|
Earlier today we experienced some power issues at our datacenter, causing network interruptions to our equipment.
Unfortunately it took some time to identify the issue and get it resolved, causing roughly 5-8 connectivity drops over a time period of 7 hours.
No servers have been restarted and total downtime is approx. 15 minutes.
We are sorry for the inconvenience. |

Follow-up on maintenance
|
We are finishing up the last parts of the maintenance now.
It didn't go as expected all the way, so shell3 was skipped and shell6 is still upgrading as of writing this.
That means shell6 will be restarted later during the Sunday.
Shell3 will be postponed for a while.
We hope everything is working as expected, else please don't hesitate to contact us. |

MAJOR MAINTENANCE 2011-04-16
|
We are doing a major maintenance the 16th of April (notice, this was mistyped as August for 30 minutes!) on all of our servers. Our hosting center is also doing maintenance at the same time.
That means from the evening and over night, things will go up and down as we are carrying on with the maintenance.
You should expect several hours of instability where some of it will be periods of downtime.
We can not provide an exact time frame, but the work will start at around 22:00 (CEST), however we will keep you updated through our website.
All servers will be restarted atleast once, so you might need to restart processes not automatically restarted through a crontab.
This affects all of our services.
We are performing a physical relocation in the hosting center, and we will perform both software and hardware upgrades at the time.
Please bear with us and we hope for your understanding.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us by email. |

Shell2 *Update 1*
|
Due to the recent problems we experienced with shell2, we decided to make an emergency move to other hardware, and split up some things.
We have had that task scheduled for a while, but was not planned to take place with such short notice.
Due to the recent downtime, I decided that it makes most sense to make it today, where less users need the server, and to limit further downtime.
Please expect some downtime when we move things around.
Update 1 at 2010-12-25 00:30:
Shell2 has been moved to another platform. Websites have been moved to a separate server. A few things are still missing, like adjustment of some vhosts, and a few "mixed" web/shell users might experience problems.
We expect to have the last few things settled over the Christmas.
Thank you for your patience, and please let us know if you have any problems, so we can get the problem fixed as soon as possible. |
